Front Ensemble Co-Caption Head
This is Michael's second year with Velocity. Michael Schlotter is a music and marching arts educator and designer based in Southern California specializing in the areas of percussion and marching techniques and styles. He is an in-demand clinician, consultant, composer and arranger for numerous marching band and indoor ensembles.
Currently, he is the Front Ensemble Coordinator/Instructor with Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, Percussion Caption Head/Arranger with Katella High School, Front Ensemble Caption with Palisades Charter High School, Front Ensemble Caption with Mira Costa High School and Visual Caption Head with Santa Margarita Catholic High School. His enjoyment and continued success stem from his ability to propel each student and ensemble he works with to higher levels of achievement.
Michael is also a professional percussionist sought after by several notable ensembles including the Juneau Symphony, LA Chamber Orchestra, Chinese Overseas Symphony, Southeast Symphony, and the Golden State Pops Orchestra. Additionally, he is an on-call recording artist for several studios for various commercial, album, and film score projects.
Michael received his BM in Percussion Performance from Wheaton College, IL.
